When I drive along the lakefront of Little Glen Lake, my eyes are always drawn past the northern Michigan homes and cottages, to the opposite lakeshore and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. We all have our favorite spots in Michigan, but to me, very few can compare the view of the Sleeping Bear Dunes from across the lake.

Whenever I head up to Leelanau County, heading north on #677, I catch my first glimpse of Little Glen Lake from the top of the hill as we begin our descent towards the lake. The first glance tells you that you are entering a very special area. Located just south of Glen Arbor, Glen Lake is truly one of Michigan’s crown jewels.
Glen Lake has a total of 6285 acres of surface waters is really two lakes separated by M22. Big Glen Lake, a 4865 acre lake, is located on the east side of M22 and has reported depths of 130 feet. The 1400 acre Little Glen Lake is located on the west side and is approximately 13 feet deep.
