Lake Sapphire is located in Lake Township in western Missaukee County, just outside of Lake City. This Michigan Lake consists of 264 acres of surface waters which has reported depths of up to 8 feet. Lake Sapphire is largely developed with a mix of year round homes and seasonal cottages.

Neighboring Crooked Lake with more than 400 acres of surface waters and its neighbor Lake Missaukee with 2034 acres of surface waters dwarfs Lake Sapphire in size. Missaukee County has been blessed to have over 4800 acres of Michigan’s lake water and Lake Sapphire and its neighbors make up over half of this amount. There are many other notable lakes in the immediate area including Long Lake, Goose Lake, Little Goose Lake, Twin Lake plus several others. Surrounding these Missaukee county lakes, one will find a nice mix of pine and hardwoods, providing spectacular colors in the fall.

The fishermen report these lakes have Bass, Crappie, Northern Pike, Pan Fish, Perch and Walleye.
