Description:

Torch Lake is located in Clearwater Township in Kalkaska County as well as Central Lake, Forest Home, Helena, Milton and Torch Lake Townships in Antrim County. 

This Michigan lake consists of 18,770 acres (29.33 square miles) of surface waters with reported depths of 285 feet, 40.8 miles of lake shoreline (includes lakeshore of islands).
Torch Lake is the second largest Michigan inland lake.

The lake bottom consists of marl, gravel and sand.

Torch Lake has several public access sites.
