• Boat Launch

McLaren Lake is located in Newfield Township in Oceana County, just four miles North and West of Hesperia. This Michigan lake consists of 271 acres of surface waters with reported depths of 70 feet and boasts of just under five miles of shoreline. McLaren Lake is connect to two smaller Michigan lakes by shallow channels. Kennedy Lake and Butternut Lake (19 acres) are just to the West.

McLaren Lake is an all sports lake.

Fishermen report catches of Walleye, Perch, Small and Large Mouth Bass, Panfish and Northern Pike. The Michigan DNR maintains a public access site with a hard surface boat launch site with parking and restrooms.

Daniels Resort,  Butternut Lake, McLaren Lake, Hesperia Michigan         This is a resort on Butternut and McLaren Lakes, about two miles North of Hesperia. I have a daughter living in Detroit now. Daniels Resort, Butternut Lake, McLaren Lake, Hesperia Michigan         We are doing just fine here. The weather is nice, sun has shined every day. So very beautiful here in Northern Michigan.
